Our Methods
Our teaching methods are based on the principle of Total Physical Response (TPR), using songs, games and fun activities to promote learning in a low-stress environment. TPR simultaneously activates both the right and left sides of the brain which enhances memory retention.
Literacy
Since teaching the children to read is a high priority, we have a library with thousands of children's books in English as well as Amharic and Oromo. We believe that reading fluency in their language of origin is foundational. Then we begin a phonics-based systematic approach to teach reading and writing in English. This includes:
